Torrey Spencer Larson, 26 years old, of San Clemente, CA, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, after a hard battle with cancer. The Boys & Girls Club of the South Coast Area was a special place to Torrey so we have set up this page if you would like to make a donation in his memory  all donations through this page will be matched, doubling your impact.

Torrey was born on August 31, 1995, in San Clemente, CA to Nipper and Lori Larson. Torrey was the youngest of three children. He grew up in San Clemente and graduated from San Clemente High School in 2014.  He was a well-known athlete during his childhood and had a natural athletic ability. He played numerous sports including football, basketball, and soccer. He always impressed his coaches and teammates where he quickly became known as someone they could rely on. He transformed into a top-notch athlete and a supportive, competitive, and hard-working teammate.

Torrey’s love for sports quickly transformed into another love, fitness. He became a personal trainer at Fitness19 in San Clemente. It was the perfect job for him as he could combine his passion for giving back to others and fitness into a career. Torrey inspired his clients to push themselves every day and he never thought of working out as a burden but more of a chance to play. While working at Fitness19 he also found the love of his life, Corey Pound. After meeting the two became inseparable. It was clear this was not an ordinary relationship. They were soulmates and totally in love. Their love story can only be described as the ones you read about in books or see in the movies. The two had their whole life planned out, including marriage which was put on pause due to Torrey’s cancer diagnosis. Throughout Torrey’s cancer journey, Corey never left his side. After his passing, Corey vowed to continue to live on in his legacy, fulfill their bucket list, and live the life they always wanted.

Torrey was well-known for his warm, welcoming, and contagious personality. He would turn any stranger into a friend in a matter of minutes. Torrey lived his life on his own terms:  positively and fearlessly. He simply lived life to the fullest and never backed away from challenges. From going to Europe by himself for 50 days, skydiving on his 21th birthday, to finding the love of his life, he stayed undeniably true to himself. During the winter, you could always find him snowboarding in the mountains with a huge smile on his face. Anyone that met Torrey knew about his passion for living. He lived a life full of selflessness, compassion, joy, enthusiasm, love, and of course, humor. No matter what type of day you were having, Torrey made sure that he put a smile on your face and made you laugh.

Torrey is survived by his parents, Nipper and Lori Larson, his two sisters, Madison Russell and Lynnea Larson, his girlfriend/partner, Corey Pound, as well as many other family and friends who loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held on what would have been his 27th birthday, August 31, 2022, at McCormick and Sons in Laguna Hills. Doors will open at 11 am and the service will begin at 12 pm. There will be Celebration of Life held later that afternoon in San Clemente.
